Soccer Scores 2-1 Victory Over Mary Baldwin

BALTIMORE, Md.— Notre Dame soccer is back to their winning ways, defeating Mary Baldwin College in a thrilling victory Saturday afternoon, 2-1.

The Gators were the first to strike against the Fighting Squirrels as freshman Sara Morales scored off a long ball from junior Madison Stoner. Morales snuck it past the goalie to give the Gators the 1-0 advantage.

Early in the second half, Mary Baldwin posted the equalizer as they capitalized off a fast break. After evening up the score, the Squirrels outshot the Gators 7-2.

NDMU did not let up.  With time running down, senior Colette Pierce score off a cross from sophomore Kayla Grube. Grube punched in the assist from the far right corner after a foul on MBC.

Senior Loren Pardoe, Pierce, and Stoner led the team with three shots each in the game. Morales added two.

In goal, freshman Myla Young tallied 10 saves, her second game with double-digit saves.

The Gators advance to 4-1 overall with the win today. They are out scoring their opponents 13-6 so far this season.
