BALTIMORE, Md. – NDMU field hockey suffered a close loss on Thursday afternoon, falling to Immaculata University, 4-3.
The Gators battled and Mighty Macs battled in the first quarter, going into the second scoreless. Immaculata scored the first goal of the game, but NDMU charged back.
Sophomore
Vanessa Dunn scored the Gators first goal, assisted by sophomore
Kelsey Campbell. Nearly three minutes later, sophomore
Maia Giafes gave Notre Dame the lead, assisted by Dunn.
The Mighty Macs scored back-to-back goals to take a 3-2 lead. In the 39
th minute, senior
Jessica Wells punched in her first of the season assisted by Campbell.
With the scored tied at three apiece, the Mighty Macs took a one goal lead with 10 minutes remaining.
Dunn posted her eighth goal of the season, while Giafes added her third and Wells with her first.
Campbell added her second and third assists.
WHAT'S NEXT?
In a short turnaround, the Gators are back home on Sunday as they host Sweet Briar College at 2:00 p.m.
