Gators Post Second Shutout

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame soccer team hosted Sweet Briar College in their first home game of the 2019 season.  The Gators proved dominate against the Vixens, scoring two first half goals and one in the second.  NDMU moves to 2-0 on the season and have yet to give up a goal.

In the 24th minute of play the Gators broke the 0-0 tie as freshman Sara Morales set sophomore Kayla Grube up for a long strike from 30 yards out.  Five minutes later, Grube added one more score off a free kick just outside the 18 in the upper left corner.

The Gators sealed their victory in the 68th minute when off a free kick, senior Loren Pardoe served up a perfect ball to senior Colette Pierce for a header that went up and over the charging goalie.
NDMU outshot the Vixens 21-3.

Freshman Myla Young notched her second consecutive shutout in goal for the Gators, posting three saves.  She currently leads the Colonial States Athletic Conference in save percentage 1.000 and shutouts.
The Gators are pacing the conference in shots per game, averaging 13.5 per game.
