BALTIMORE, Md. – Notre Dame volleyball posted their third consecutive victory Thursday night as they hosted Lincoln University in their home opener. The Gators were dominate in the match, taking the opening set 25-10 and then rolling through the final two sets, 25-9 and 25-16.
Sophomore
Alyssa Kerns paced the offense, tallying nine kills and hitting for .286. Senior
Mary Marquez and junior
Michaila Sheedy each posted six kills. Sheedy hit for an impressive .600, racking up her six kills in only 10 attempts.
Senior
Kayleigh Davis followed close behind, finishing the match with five kills while also adding six digs.
From the service line, the Gators had their second consecutive match with double-digit aces, finishing with 13. Freshman
Ivanella Figueroa paced the team, recording four aces. Marquez and sophomore
Emma Jordan each had three aces.
On the defensive end, Marquez tallied eight digs, with Figueroa adding five. Sheedy added one solo block and two assists.
Senior
Sara Few and freshman
Cara McLaughlin combined for 23 assists over the three sets.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators will only have one day off from competition before returning to the court. They will travel to Christendom College for a trimatch where they will also face Penn State Mont Alto.
