WATCH: CSAC #RaiseYourGame Program No. 3 - Social Justice: Getting Into Good Trouble

ROSEMONT, Pa.--Six student-athletes representing three institutions in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) participated in a panel discussion Wednesday evening in an effort to generate meaningful dialogue surrounding Social Justice: Getting Into Good Trouble as part of the CSAC #RaiseYourGame virtual programming series.

The student panel included senior field hockey players Alexandra Arabio and Brice Gardner from Cedar Crest College; sophomore women's lacrosse player Sara Morales and senior women's volleyball player Hannah Amodia from Notre Dame of Maryland University; and junior men's basketball players Nasir Mosley and Haybert Louchie from Bryn Athyn College. The discussion was moderated by athletic directors Allen Snook (Cedar Crest) and Renee Bostic (Notre Dame).

During the presentation, the participants watched a video interview between talk show host Stephen Colbert and civil rights leader John Lewis, whose steadfast social activism inspired the concept of "good trouble". The student panel then cited the need for their peers within the conference to be actively engaged in discussions around social justice on their campuses and work together in order to create awareness that is more than a singular moment or trend, but as a larger movement and a way of life.

The students made a sincere plea to their fellow students and student-athletes that "it starts with us" and encouraged all students to lead by example by being positive role models in their communities and promote communication.

Lastly, the student panel advocated for every student to exercise their civic duty and vote in the upcoming general election as a way to fight for what they feel will create the best future for generations to come.
