Baltimore, Md – The NCAA celebrated a "Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign" that was partnered with 
theMinority Opportunities and Interests Committee (MOIC) and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committees. Throughout the campaign that ran Tuesday October 27th through Thursday October 29th, schools and conferences were encouraged to participate and support the campaign.
Each day of the campaign was designated a theme, and conferences and schools were encouraged to use the theme to promote the campaign. The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) took the videos from each school in our conference, and put them together. You can view all the videos on csacsports.org.
Day 1 was on Tuesday the 27th, and its theme was "My Story Matters" which was aimed to explore student-athlete's identities, perspectives, and experiences. Senior volleyball student-athlete Hannah Amodia, shares why her story matters, "My story matters because immigrants need a voice, especially during this time."
Day 2 was "I Got Your Back" which showcased how student-athletes support and encourage each other to foster inclusive environments. Lastly, day 3's theme was "Together We Rise" which was to outline personal action steps to inclusive excellence and celebrating collaboration across the campus community.
In addition to the three different themes for each day, schools and conferences were encouraged to celebrate diversity and inclusion, not just in terms of race and gender, but as all identities in the broad spectrum of diversity such as sexual orientation, (dis)ability, religion, socioeconomic status, national origin, or first-generational status. We hope our student-athletes and campus community will not just celebrate diversity and inclusion this week, but will continue to celebrate and support it all year round.
