NDMU Suffers Devastating Loss in Semifinals Against Eagles

MORRISTOWN, Nj. – Wednesday night the Gators fought to overcome the number two seeded College of St. Elizabeth in the Semifinal Colonial States Athletic Conference game. The first quarter started off strong for each team with point for point shooting and was tied by the quarter's end with 19 points each. Following a technical foul on the Gators in the second quarter, the number two seeded team found control of the game and the Gators were not able to catch back up to their lead finishing at halftime, 25-39. NDMU persevered throughout the entire second half of the game, trying to even the spread made by the Eagles. Unfortunately, the Gators could not match the pace of the game and lost 51-76.

Freshman Ayana Brim finished the game as the Gator's leading scorer posting 17 points total. She was one rebound shy of ending the game with a double-double recording nine rebounds.

Sophomore Daija Fitchett ended the game with her thirteenth double-double this season, with 12 rebounds and 14 points.

Freshman Ariana Alleyne also recorded double-digit scoring with 10 total points. Additionally, freshman Jaylah Lewis recorded three assists and three steals for the team.

This game will end the 2019-2020 women's basketball season with a closing record of 17-9 overall and 13-6 in the CSAC. The Notre Dame Gators have finished their season as number three in the CSAC.
