BALTIMORE, Md. – Tuesday afternoon, a cross-town rivalry game against the Goucher College Gophers occurred. As the second home game for NDMU, the Gophers proved to be a solid matchup for the Gators. At the half the Gators were ahead by two. They continued to keep the lead well into the second half leading by four. With less than 12 minutes left to play the Gophers found motivation and tied up the game. The Gators had a few breakaway opportunities to take the lead but were not able to place it into the goal. The Gophers scored two more times in the second half, sealing their fate, winning the game 11-9.
Despite the loss, there was a wide variety of goals spread throughout the NDMU lacrosse team. Senior
Loren Pardoe, sophomore
Vanessa Dunn, and freshman
Sara Morales all scored two goals each. Morales finished with earning six draw controls on the circle as well. Pardoe recorded five draw controls, along with Dunn earning one. Junior
Marie Salas posted 11 saves for the NDMU lacrosse team.
The Gator's overall record falls to 1-2 for the 2020 regular season.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Notre Dame Gators will host another game this Saturday against Eastern Mennonite at 1:00 p.m. Before the game occurs, the NDMU community will be honoring the 2019 Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship team in a Ring Ceremony.
