BALTIMORE - Notre Dame of Maryland University's field hockey team held the Keystone College to a defensive showdown on Saturday afternoon but we're unable to sneak out the win against the 8-4 Giants. With the loss, NDMU will move to 1-5 on the year. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Gators defense saw 13 penalty corners on the evening and only allowed three shots on target. 
• Notre Dame held the Giants scoreless after one and took the shutout into the last four minutes of the first half. A late score would give Keystone a 1-0 edge. 
• Maia Giafes and co were stingy all afternoon but another late score from the Giants in the third period would put the game out of reach. 

OF NOTE 

• The Gators drop to 1-12 all-time against the Giants.
• With the game-high in saves, Jensen Armstrong added to her season total. She has 52 on the year. 
• Notre Dame combined for just two penalty corners to the Giants 13.
