BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University's soccer team was downed 2-0 on Saturday evening against Bryn Athyn (8-3-2, 7-1-1). The Gators have clinched the 5th seed in the CSAC playoffs and will visit 4th seeded Cairn (8-7-1, 5-2-1) on Monday. Notre Dame (Md.) will end the regular season at 4-5 in the CSAC and 5-8 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions started the game on the attack. Bryn Athyn played its way into two early corner chances but the Gators defense held on to keep the game scoreless. Later in the half, at the 35:49 minute mark, the Lions fielded a corner striking a header at Jamie Norris. The keeper came away with the stop.
- With little offensive rhythm going, the Gators broke through 20 minutes into the game. Kayla Grube delivered a pass from the right-wing to the left for Andriena Franco-Ramos. Franco-Ramos fired a long strike on goal to force some discomfort from the Lions defense.
- Emma Alascia broke loose into the Lions' box field. She was fouled attempting to break through two Lions defenders. The Gators failed to convert the penalty kick.
- The Gators stayed on the attack, attempting a corner after the missed kick. Alascia came close to finding the back of the net on a pass from Averee Radonovich.
- Moments later, Roselynn Kamara got a heated volley off in the Lions box but the shot went just high from the goal.
- With the Gators offense unable to capitalize on chances 30 minutes through the first, Norris presented a challenge for the Lions on the defensive end. Norris saw five shots and swatted away three saves to keep things leveled up.

- Notre Dame will make its return to the conference championships for the first time since 2019.
