Durham Drops Career-Best 28 Points but Gators Fall Late to CSAC’s Top Team

BALTIMORE, MD – The Notre Dame of Maryland basketball team was downed 80-70 on Wednesday evening, against Clarks Summit Defenders (11-2, 7-0 CSAC), the conference No. 1 ranked team.
In the absence of Daija Fitchett, the team's double-double artist (12.4 ppg, 13.1 rpg) and the CSAC's best rim-protector, Alexis Durham went for a career-high 28 points on 5-for-11 shooting from deep. The Gators will move to 3-4 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Durham had 15 points at the break and Amya Durham added five assists and six points giving Notre Dame a 46-35 lead at halftime.
  • The Gators shot 17-for-35 from the floor and 8-10 from the free-throw line.
  • Defenders responded defensively in the second half. They limited the Gators to 15 points in the third quarter and became stingy in the fourth to overtake the lead.
  • Clarks Summit made 13 trips to the line in the final quarter and held the Gators to nine points to hang on to its unbeaten record against CSAC opponents.
