BALTIMORE, MD – For the fourth time this season senior forward
Daija Fitchett has been named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week was announced by the league office on Monday. Fitchett reclaims the award for a second straight week, accomplishing the same feat earlier this season on Nov. 22 and Nov. 29.
Ayana Brim's performance in the Gators 63-58 win against Crain earned her a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll list.
Brim led the offensive attack in the win. The junior finished with her third double-double of the season, scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. She had nine offensive boards and 16 points in the second half to get the comeback win.
Notre Dame (Md.) dominated the boards against Cairn with Fitchett recording career-highs while tying the program record for second-most rebounds and blocks in a single game (22 rebounds, 6 blocks). Fitchett recorded her 11th double-double of the season, finishing the game with 10 points, 22 rebounds, six blocks, and two steals. She maintains her league-leading 14.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per contest. Fitchett became the program's 4th all-time leading rebounder, passing Gabrielle Ferrell (1999-03) and Jennifer Chaney (1993-97).
