BALTIMORE –
Emma Alascia and
Sara Morales both recorded hat tricks, and
Anna Choudhary added a pair of goals for Notre Dame of Maryland University during a 9-5 victory over Trinity Washington at Alumnae Field on Wednesday.
Mackenzie Lookingland also scored for the Gators (4-6), who picked up their second home win of the season. Alascia (3 G, 4 A) factored in seven of the nine goals on the afternoon; her 10 points are the second-most by a CSAC student-athlete on the year.
After the Tigers (3-6-2) opened the scoring 11:14 into the contest, Choudhary and Alascia tallied seconds apart in the 21st minute to put NDMU in front. Choudhary would then double the advantage less than seven minutes later, as she recorded her first multi-goal game as a Gator.
Trinity pulled back within one in the 32nd minute, but back-to-back strikes 72 seconds apart by Morales and Lookingland quickly increased NDMU's lead up to 5-2. The Gators would ultimately take a 7-3 advantage into the intermission, with Alascia and Morales rounding out the first half scoring for the home side.
Morales sealed her fourth collegiate hat trick (third this season) in the 60th minute, and Alascia finished off her hat trick with 18 minutes remaining in regulation. Morales totaled seven points (3 G, 1 A) in the victory, and she now ranks fifth in the CSAC with 22 points (10 G, 2 A) overall this season. Alascia is eighth among CSAC scorers with 19 points (7 G, 5 A).
Makaylah Reyes finished with 10 saves in goal for the Gators, as she made double-digit stops for a sixth time in eight appearances.
