Daija Fitchett was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season on Monday morning, earning a spot on the First-Team All-CSAC announced the league office. Freshman
Alexis Durham was recognized as the league's Co-Rookie of the Year in addition to earning Honorable Mention All-CSAC after manning the Gators attack with 14.3 points, 5.6 assists, and 5.8 rebounds during the regular season.
Head Coach Kalin Wynn (30-16, 26-10 CSAC) was awarded Coach of the Year after leading the Gators basketball team to 13 wins for the second consecutive season, most CSAC wins in school history.
Ayana Brim was recognized as a member of the All-CSAC Honorable Mention team along with Durham. The 2019-20 Rookie of the Year averaged 13.3 points and 6.6 rebounds forming the most dominant front-court in the conference. She scored in double figures 17 times, tallying four double-doubles including a career-best 17 rebounds against Cairn (12/8/21).
Freshman Guard Bethani Newbold was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the Gators. She's made 19 starts averaging five points and five boards.
For two-time Defensive Player of the Year, Fitchett is tied with Durham for the team scoring lead at 14.3 per contest. She led the league with 13.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks, collecting 16 double-doubles and 16 multi-blocks performances. Fitchett and Durham each recorded double-digits scoring on 16 occasions.
