Gators Drop Doubleheader at Cedar Crest

BALTIMORE, MD - The Notre Dame of Maryland softball team (4-8, 1-3 CSAC) suffered tough losses on Sunday afternoon against Cedar Crest (10-9, 5-3 CSAC) losing 11-12 in game one and 7-16 in game two. 
 
GAME ONE 
  • Kendall Snyder's hard double drove in two runs in the first inning to put the Gators up early. 
  • Maci Lopez, Jessie Leatherwood, Snyder, and Bethani Newbold all recorded RBIs in the second inning. 
  • Leatherwood led the Gators batting 4-for-5. She came in to score four runs, tying the game-high. 
  • Jamie Ballard recorded her first hit in her first collegiate softball game. 
  • Snyder's seven RBIs broke the single-game RBI record in program history. 
  • The Gators won the hitting battle with 17 to the Falcons 14. 
  • The Falcons pulled away with a 12-11 victory in the bottom of the seventh with a walk-off single. 
GAME TWO 
  • Snyder, the team leader in RBIs, continues her hot streak with a two-RBI single into right-center. 
  • The Falcons scored six runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead. 
  • Ciarra Bockstie drove in a run from a single in the third inning. 
  • Newbold blasted her second grand slam of the season while batting 2-for-3 with four RBIs. 
  • Seven Gators recorded a hit in the loss.

Notre Dame will continue conference play against Keystone College on Wednesday, April 13.
