BALTIMORE, MD – The Notre Dame of Maryland lacrosse team (5-4, 3-1 CSAC) had no trouble putting Cedar Crest (1-5, 0-2 CSAC) away in Tuesday night's 22-5 rout.
Jade Stewart tied the program points record (14) after setting a new career-high in assists with nine. Grad senior
Brooke Siebert scored a career-best eight goals and
Cesia Diaz tallied her first ever in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cedar Crest broke the game open with the first goal. Stewart started her big day off with a pair of assists to put the Gators up 2-1.
- Stewart scored her first of five goals on the day on an unassisted shot.
- Siebert found Sara Morales for her first goal on the day to extend the lead. The Gators next score came when Morales returned the favor to Siebert for the hat-trick.
- Stewart, Siebert, and Hannah Mullaney each had a score to close out the first period.
- Out of the gates in the second, Stewart found Siebert twice and Mullaney with just over three minutes in the period to extend the lead to 11-2.
- Mullaney secured her second hat-trick of the season,the fifth of her career midway through the third.
- NDMU ended the half up 15-3 after Averee Radonovich's first score of the season.
- Notre Dame went on to add seven more goals in the second half, including Diaz's first collegiate score to hold off the Falcons 22-5
OF NOTE
- Siebert surpassed her previous best of six goals while at Wilmington (Caldwell 4/13/19). She also led the team with five ground balls.
- Stewart recorded five goals to go along with nine assists to accumulate the 14 points,
- Morales recorded her ninth hat-trick of the year and 18th in three seasons.
- Eight Gators recorded a ground ball. Four posted three or more including Siebert, Stewart, Generoso and Anna Choudhary.
