BALTIMORE, MD – The Notre Dame of Maryland Lacrosse team (8-6, 6-2 CSAC) saw another fantastic season under Coach
Kari-lei Berry come to an end in a hard-fought 15-7 defeat by Bryn Athyn (11-2, 7-0 CSAC). The eight-win season is the most under Coach Berry's leadership.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Gators started the game in a 2-0 hole as Bryn Athyn went on to score two early goals from Lee Antwi and Maria Storck.
- Sarah Generoso made quick work on the offensive end, scoring seconds later to get the Gators back within one score.
- Assist leader Jade Stewart got in on the action to tie up the ball game at 2-2.
- Bryn Athyn's Payton and Shea Gormley combined for five unanswered to give the Lions a 7-2 lead.
- Generoso discord her second on the day to get NDMU an inch closer before the second but Bryn Athyn added an eight-goal as time expired in the first.
- To start the scoring in the second, Generoso notched her fourth hat-trick of the year on a pass from Cesia Diaz to put the score at 8-4.
- Bryn Athyn added four more goals in the second to a comfortable 12-4 lead into the second half.
- Both teams were held scoreless in the third as the Gators faced an eight-goal deficit going into the fourth.
- Sara Morales added two late goals but the Gators could not close the gap late.
- Morales will finish the season ranked second in single-season points (105) and third in goals (82). The CSAC Defensive Player of the Year also won the second most draw controls in a season in school history
