BALTIMORE– The Notre Dame of Maryland women's soccer fell in their United East matchup with Cairn University by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 10
The Gators (4-6 Overall, 2-3 United East) created some early scoring chances putting pressure on Cairn's Defense. That pressure resulted in an early corner and a shot on goal by Chasiti Nchangnwi. The Highlanders (4-3-3 Overall, 3-0-2 United East) recovered and took an early lead, scoring in the 21st minute. The Gators tried to respond but could not sustain offense. Cairn added two more goals in the final six minutes to stretch their advantage to 3-0 at the half.
NDMU made some second half adjustments, slowing down the Highlanders attack. The Gators began to generate some offensive chances late in the second half. Cyrah Bihler fired a dangerous ball on free kick across the box, nearly curling inside the far post. Moments later, Mackenzie Lookingland blasted a shot that was deflected. Anna Choudhary also got a quality scoring chance, but she missed just wide to the right. The Gators could not find a goal, eventually falling 3-0.

The Gators will travel to face the University of Valley Forge in a United East matchup on Saturday, Oct. 14. The kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
