BALTIMORE– The Notre Dame of Maryland women's volleyball team picked up a key United East victory, defeating Bryn Athyn College on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The Gators secured the four-set victory thanks to set scores of 25-14, 22-25, 25-10 and 25-17.
The Gators (8-8 Overall, 2-1 United East) offense was powered by Gabbi Taganas and Miasia Ferrer. Taganas finished the night with a season-high 12 kills, while Ferrer reached double figures with 10 kills. Jade Stewart chipped in with eight kills. Emma Mueller and Natalie Newton took turns leading the offense, each recording 16 assists.
NDMU's defense was led by Candace Forgach-Aguilar who recorded a season-high 25 digs. Stewart continued to impact the defense, adding 12 digs. Elena Aungst had a career night, posting nine digs in extended action.
The Gators dominated the game, holding a 44-30 edge in kills and a 6-1 advantage in blocks. NDMU also won the digs battle, holding a 67-53 advantage. Finally, the Gators serve made an impact with the team collecting eight service aces.

The Gators have a quick turnaround hosting Mary Baldwin University in their final nonconference match up on Thursday, Oct. 12. The first serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
