WASHINGTON, D.C. – Notre Dame of Maryland's women's volleyball put on another impressive performance, rolling past Trinity Washington University in straight set on Thursday, Sept. 14. The Gators (4-3 Overall) powered to the sweep, posting set scores of 25-7, 25-13 and 25-10.
NDMU controlled the match thanks to an incredibly efficient attack. The Gators recoded nine kills on 15 swings, hitting an impressive .533 in both the first and third sets. Nine different Gators recorded kills, led by
Elora Taala who finished the game with six kills.
Miasia Ferrer added five kills, hitting an impressive .714.
Shelbey Willson took command of the offense, recording a career-high 23 assists.
The Gators capitalized on some powerful serves to rack up 27 service aces in the during the three sets. Willson led the charge, posting nine aces while
Jade Stewart added five more.
With the offense rolling, NDMU was able to give some different defenders an opportunity to shine.
Elena Aungst made the most of her opportunity, leading the team with 10 digs.
Victoria Wong had a strong showing, posting eight digs.
