BALTIMORE- The Notre Dame of Maryland women's soccer got back on track, taking down Penn St. Mont Alto by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
 
After a scoreless first half, the Gators (2-2 Overall) came out of the break with a more aggressive mindset. Emma Alascia and Mackenzie Looking each firing shots on goal in the first five minutes. The Gators continued to put on the pressure, earning a free kick from outside the box in the 78th minute. Cyrah Bihler stepped up to take the free kick, firing a beautiful cross toward the far post. Laura Lang made a well-timed run, gathering the ball and knocking into the back of the net to give NDMU their first lead. NDMU controlled possession in the final ten minutes, securing the victory.

• Lang's goal in the 78th minute was the first of her college career. 
• Bihler earned her first career assist, sending a perfectly placed cross into the box.
• The Gators held a 6-4 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in shots on goal. 
• Makaylah Reyes made two saves in goal and Leah Hasberry added one.

The Gators will dive into conference play, traveling to face Clarks Summit University on Saturday, Sept 23. Kickoff is schedule for 3:00 PM.
