Morristown, NJ - The Notre Dame of Maryland Women's Soccer team got back on track earning a 3-2 United East victory over Saint Elizabeth University on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
The Gators got off to a fast start scoring in the 7
th minute.
Malaika Habib used her track speed to lose behind the Eagles Defense, firing a shot across the face of the goal and into the back of the net. NDMU remained on the attack earning a pair of first half penalty kicks, but could not convert, leading 1-0 at the break.
Saint Elizabeth captured momentum in the second half, scoring in the 53
rd minute to level the score at one. The Gators answered back, making the most of the chaos after a free kick with
Jillian Seay gathering the ball and smashing her first goal of the season into the back of the net. NDMU looked to stretch their lead in the 79
th minute.
Kathryn DeGrange stepped up to take a free just outside the box, perfectly placing a shot over the goalkeeper for her first goal of the season. The Eagles tried to rally, scoring in the 88
th minute to close within one goal. NDMU's starting goalkeeper,
Leah Hasberry made eight saves to help the Gators hold on for the 3-2 victory.

The Gators will have a week off before traveling to face the University of Valley Forge on Thursday, Oct. 10. The kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM
