Morristown, NJ - The Notre Dame of Maryland Men's Soccer team fell in a high scoring affair to Saint Elizabeth University in a road match-up by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Saint Elizabeth struck early in the first half, netting a goal in the 5
th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Gators answered right back, earning a penalty kick in the 7
th minute, and
Elija Hanrieder convert his second PK goal of the season. NDMU took their first lead of the game in the 19
th minute. Off a long throw in,
Tassilo Lehmkuhl found an open
Peer Ewerbeck for a goal. The Gators had captured the momentum and looked to push the advantage in the 22
nd minute. This time Lehmkuhl blasted a shot into the upper right-hand corner of the net, making the score 3-1. The Eagles regain their composure and the momentum, scoring three times in a nine-minute span to rally back and take a 4-3 lead at the half.
NDMU started the second half with a bang, when nine seconds into the half, Lehmkuhl swiped the ball from an Eagles' defender and perfectly placed a shot under the crossbar to level the score at four. Saint Elizabeth immediately responded, scoring in the 49
th minute on a PK to retake the lead. The Gators tried to find a fifth goal throughout the second half, but they could not level the score as the Eagles scored in the 83
rd minute to put the game away.

The Gators will return home to take on Rosemont College on Saturday, Oct. 5. The kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM
