Men's Basketball Goes 1-1 on the Week

Tough OT Loss to Wilson and a Win Against Cairn

Baltimore, M.d.- NDMU Men's Basketball went 1-1 this week, losing a tough home overtime matchup against the Wilson College Phoenix and avenging a last second loss from December, beating the Cairn University Highlanders today. Ahmad Harrison led the Gators averaging 16.5 points this week.

Wilson 83, Notre Dame 73 (OT)
Wednesday night, NDMU Men's Basketball played their second match up against Wilson College and were handed a tough overtime loss. The Gators lead at the half after nine lead changes. Notre Dame would hold onto the lead until overtime, the largest lead being 12 points. Wilson College would use two late three pointers and a late layup to force overtime. It would take NDMU until one minute left in overtime to score and that would be the difference in the game. The Gators were outscored 12-2 in the overtime period. Four Gators scored in double figures, Harrison, Anthony Wright, Chandler Johnson, and Jermaine Koger, Jr.

Notre Dame 77, Cairn 69 
Saturday afternoon, NDMU traveled to Cairn University and left Langhorne with a win. In their previous meeting, the game went down to the last shot with the Highlanders leaving Baltimore with a win. The Highlanders would lead most of the way through the first half, leading by as much as 11. The Gators would take advantage of a missed three pointer, scoring back to back jumpers, to take a three point lead into the half. The start of the second half would be back and forth, with ten minutes left in the game, Notre Dame would take the lead. Harrison lead the Gators with a double-double, 18 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson, Wright, and K'Won Johnson rounded out the strong performance by the Gators with 16, 16, and 12 points respectively. 

NDMU moves to 9-10 overall and 6-4 in United East play adding to their program best win total. The Gators travel to St. Mary's, M.d. on Tuesday night and then rounds out the week with a Senior Day match-up with PSU-Brandywine on Saturday at home.
