WESTMINSTER, MD – Notre Dame of Maryland battled throughout but was unable to keep pace with a hot-shooting McDaniel squad, falling 82–31 on Wednesday night at the Gill Center.
The Gators (1–4) were led by
Alia Austin, who delivered an efficient performance inside with 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting while adding five rebounds.
Thalia Kayiranga added a strong effort off the bench, finishing with 7 points and a team-high 7 rebounds, and
Raven Rowe chipped in 4 points and 4 boards.
McDaniel came out firing early, hitting 12 of 17 shots in the opening quarter to build a 29–9 advantage. Notre Dame found success on the offensive glass—finishing with 19 offensive rebounds—but struggled to convert second-chance opportunities, shooting 11-of-56 from the floor for the game.
Despite the deficit, the Gators showed stretches of defensive toughness, collecting seven steals and getting key stops in the second and third quarters. Austin powered a small second-quarter surge, hitting a jumper and later scoring inside as NDMU momentarily steadied the pace.
McDaniel, however, continued its strong perimeter shooting, knocking down 12 three-pointers overall. The Green Terror were led by Elaina Beckett's 25 points.
Notre Dame's bench contributed 24 of the team's 31 points, with players like Kayiranga, Rowe, and
Amani Watts providing an energy boost throughout the night.
