Green Leads Gators to Resounding 113-90 Win Over Alvernia

BALTIMORE, MD - Notre Dame of Maryland erupted for 68 second-half points and pulled away late to defeat Alvernia 113–90 on Saturday afternoon at Jack McCloskey Court.

The Gators led 45–38 at halftime after a back-and-forth opening 20 minutes that featured eight ties and 11 lead changes. Notre Dame steadily gained control after the break, shooting nearly 60 percent in the second half and repeatedly converting in transition to turn a close game into a decisive road win.

Carlos Green powered the surge, pouring in a game-high 29 points off the bench while going a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range. Ricardo Ross added 18 points and ignited several fast-break chances, while Jahbreco Dacosta posted a strong all-around performance with 16 points and 12 rebounds. The Gators finished with 60 bench points and a 56–38 edge in points in the paint.

Notre Dame created separation midway through the second half with a sustained run that pushed the lead to double digits. Green knocked down consecutive threes during the stretch, and Dacosta repeatedly finished inside as the Gators extended the margin to as many as 26.

Alvernia was led by Janye Stanley's 22 points, with Kareem Diaz and Rasheem Dearry adding 21 apiece, but the Golden Wolves were unable to keep pace as Notre Dame's depth and efficiency wore them down.

The win improved Notre Dame of Maryland to 8–5 overall and makes it eight straight victories against Division III opponents. The Gators will get a week to rest before taking a short trip to Goucher College on Monday, December 29 at 4 PM.
