BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame of Maryland women's basketball team finished the regular season by winning its fourth straight game, as the Gators (13-12, 11-5 United East) skated by Lancaster Bible (10-13, 7-8 United East) 66-53 Thursday night.
Notre Dame will now await Saturday's final day of conference play to determine its playoff seed and opponent.
Amani Watts had a team-high 24 points on 10-for-14 shooting, while
Elena Rodriguez added in 12 as the Gators were lazer sharp from the field shooting 48 percent (24-for-50) and were 15-for-20 from the foul line.
Amya Durham went for 11 points with
Yasmeen Yussuf getting eight.
Lancaster Bible was paced by 23 points from Jenna Dombach and 11 points each from Isabella Eufemia and Serene Calderson.
Leading by one midway through the second quarter, the Gators went on a 6-0 run to go up 25-18 with 2:23 left on a layup by Yussuf. The Chargers got the deficit back down to one, before Stevenson ended the half on a 6-0 run to take a 31-24 lead at intermission.
The run continued in the second half, as the Gators went up by 14 at 38-24 and kept the lead the rest of the way.
