HANOVER, Md. – The Notre Dame of Maryland University baseball team – playing at its home in Joe Cannon Stadium – dropped a 13-9 decision to Gettysburg on Tuesday afternoon.

The Gators (0-2) did tie the score at 2-all after one, before the Bullets (3-0) scored two in the top of the second and five in the top of the third on the way to the win.

NDMU got 12 hits on the afternoon and played well defensively, committing just one error.

Kevin Goedeke had two hits and three RBI on the afternoon, while Ben Boyer, Tyler Holton, Zane Cook and Ryan Parks each had multiple hits for the Gators. Logan Ward
also had three RBI, as Cook also scored twice.

Goedeke's two-run single in the first pulled the Gators even as he scored Holton and Bell.

Ward's three-run double in the third inning got the Gators to within four at 9-5, followed by an RBI double from Parks that scored Ward.

Goedeke's third RBI came in the seventh scoring Holton, while Goedeke would later score on an error.

Brennan Deremeik took the loss, as he struck out three and walked seven in two innings of work. Vlad Oleynyk had three strikeouts in 3.1 innings of relief, while Rhys Eder and Kyle Erickson also pitched in relief for the Gators.

Notre Dame heads to Lancaster Bible tomorrow.
