Men's Basketball falls in United East Final to Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The historic season for the Notre Dame of Maryland University men's basketball team came to an end on Saturday as the Gators (16-13) lost to Bryn Athyn (20-8) 82-69 in the championship game of the United East Conference tournament.

The Lions outscored the Gators 43-29 in the second half on the way to their first conference title in school history and bid to the NCAA tournament.

Notre Dame was led by K'Won Johnson who had 21 points, with Ahmad Harrison scoring 12. Jahbreco Dacosta had 11 rebounds on the night, with Johnson picking up three steals.

Bryn Athyn got 22 points from Jalen Parker and 20 points from Jalen Jackson in the win, as the Gators led at the break 40-39.

The edge in the game was on the foul line as Bryn Athyn went 29-for-46 from the foul line while Notre Dame was 14-for-16.

Trailing by as much in the second half, Notre Dame was able to cut to eight points late in the second half as Anthony Wright made a three-pointer with 63 seconds left to make the score 75-67.
