BALTIMORE, MD - The new look Notre Dame of Maryland Gators women's volleyball team tips off their season as the program who lost most of the starters from the 2024 season offers opportunities for new stars to shine.
The Gators return just one of their top four points earners from last year as junior hitter
Emily Gordon looks to improve upon her fine season with 168 kills last year. The Gators will also have a new starting setter as junior
Shelbey Willson looks to have the inside track on the job with 195 assists in the 2024 campaign. Sophomore
Gwen Abnett returns as well after accruing 51 blocks last season while the back line will see sophomore
Izzy Stewart and her 119 digs from her freshman year.
Notre Dame of Maryland will get their season going on Saturday, August 30 in a tri-match at Stevenson University that also includes McDaniel College. The home opener will take place on September 6 in a doubleheader against Eastern Mennonite before traveling to Washington College in a tri-match with Trinity College. Penn State Brandywine comes to the Swamp on September 20 for the Gators first United East Conference match up followed by conference home matches against Wilson College on September 30 and Lancaster Bible College on October 8. NDM will close out the regular season with another conference home match on November 1 with Cairn College coming to town.
