Baltimore, MD – September 13, 2025 – Notre Dame of Maryland men's soccer put up a strong fight on Saturday afternoon at Alumnae Field, but visiting Stockton capitalized on key moments to edge the Gators 2–1.
Stockton (4–1) struck first just before halftime, converting a penalty kick in the 41st minute to take a 1–0 lead. Notre Dame (0–3–2) answered quickly after the break when
Tassilo Lehmkuhl finished a chance in the 47th minute on a powerful shot to the bottom left corner of the net off a beautiful through ball from
Pedro Lima, pulling the Gators level at 1–1.
The tie was short-lived, however, as the Ospreys regained the advantage in the 59th minute on a goal by Thomas Trimble. Despite pushing forward in the final half hour, Notre Dame couldn't find the equalizer.
Lehmkuhl paced the Gators' attack with two shots and the lone goal, while goalkeeper
David Von Mentlen turned away four saves to keep his team within striking distance. Notre Dame finished with five shots compared to Stockton's 19, including two corner kicks in the second half.
The Gators will get a week to rest up before returning to their home field on Saturday, September 20 when they host Albright University at 1 PM.
