BALTIMORE - The Notre Dame of Maryland men's soccer team kept their winning ways going on Saturday afternoon at the Turf Field Sponsored by the SSNDs, defeating Penn State Berks 2-0.
The three-match winning streak is the longest in program history, and the Gators' third shutout of the season is tied for the most in a single season, having reached that mark in 2023 and 2024.
The Gators fired off 13 shots before
Arnaud Gerin found the breakthrough goal in the 26th minute, his second goal of the season. Gerin led the Gators with five shots and four shots on target.
NDMU doubled the lead 15 minutes later when
Tassilo Lehmkuhl's backheel flick found Athanasios Ziliaskopolous, who slotted home for his seventh goal of the season.
The Gators' defense held firm as they held Berks to five shots and two shots on goals despite playing most of the second half down a man.
The Gators have not allowed a goal in 224 minutes of action;
Liam Walhgren Pedersen recorded a pair of saves in between the sticks for the Gators.
The Gators are 4-3-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference play. They are back in action on Tuesday when they host league-leading Penn State Abington.
