Pair of Late Goals Sink Women's Soccer at Lancaster Bible

Lancaster, Pa. - The Notre Dame of Maryland women's soccer team overcame a two-goal deficit in the second half on Wednesday afternoon against Lancaster Bible, but the Chargers scored twice in the match's final five minutes to end the day with a 4-2 win over the Gators.

LBC scored off a corner kick in the 11th minute before doubling their lead in the early part of the second half.

The 57th minute saw Alex Busick launch a shot from outside the right edge of the box, which carried over the fingertips of the Chargers goalkeeper and into the back of the net to halve the deficit.

Olivia Messercola pounced on a Chargers turnover in the hosts' box, equalizing for the Gators in the 69th minute on her first goal of the season.

The Gators' defense stood strong until the 86th minute, when LBC capitalized on a corner kick; they took 19 for the match to the Gators' five.

LBC scored the dagger in the final minute to secure the 4-2 win.

The Gators' only two shots on target found the back of the net; Leah Hasberry faced 22 shots, 13 of which were on target, and recorded nine saves in 90 minutes.

The Gators close the regular season this Saturday when they host Wilson.
