Gators Drop Regular Season Finale at Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, PA - The Notre Dame of Maryland fought until the final horn but ultimately fell on the road, 72–63, to the Cedar Crest on Saturday afternoon at Lees Gymnasium. The Gators regular season finale sees them fall to 12-11 overall and 8-5 in the United East Conference.

Notre Dame stayed within striking distance throughout the contest despite a slow offensive start. After trailing 32–20 at halftime, the Gators came out strong in the third quarter, matching Cedar Crest with 19 points and cutting into the deficit behind improved shooting and inside play.

Senior Amani Watts led the way for Notre Dame with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Allison Holman added 14 points and five boards. Marecia Barnett chipped in 14 points, six assists, and three rebounds, helping spark the Gators' late push.

The fourth quarter saw Notre Dame outscore Cedar Crest 24–21, highlighted by timely three-pointers and second-chance opportunities that trimmed the margin to four points with just over a minute remaining. However, Cedar Crest capitalized at the free-throw line down the stretch to seal the win.

Notre Dame finished the game with 40 rebounds and 21 second-chance points, battling on the glass and in the paint despite Cedar Crest's hot shooting from beyond the arc.

The Gators will go into the postseason as the #5 seed and will have a rematch with the #4 seed Cedar Crest on Saturday, February 21.
