BALTIMORE, MD — Notre Dame of Maryland University put together a dominant all-around performance Saturday afternoon, rolling past Penn State Berks 95–69 at Gator Court in United East action. The game was preceeded by the senior day ceremony where the graduating trio of Dylan Long, Anthony Wright, and Chandler Johnson along with team manager Elora Taala were honored for their years of service with the Gators.
The Gators set the tone early, shooting 52.3 percent from the field in the first half and racing out to a 54–34 lead at the break. Notre Dame consistently pushed the pace, capitalizing on transition opportunities and controlling the paint on both ends of the floor.
Marlon Lewis led the way with 20 points on an efficient 10-for-13 shooting, adding nine rebounds and a block. Anthony Wright followed closely with 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double, while Dylan Long chipped in 16 points and three steals. Carlos Green provided a spark off the bench, knocking down three three-pointers on his way to 13 points.
Notre Dame finished the afternoon shooting 50 percent from the field and held a decisive edge in points in the paint (52–40) and fast break scoring (24–11). The Gators also turned defense into offense, scoring 28 points off turnovers.
Penn State Berks was led by Zach Prator, who scored a game-high 23 points, but Notre Dame's depth and relentless pressure proved too much to overcome.
With the win, Notre Dame of Maryland improves to 16–8 overall and 10–2 in United East play with just one game left to play in the regular season. The Gators travel to Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday, February 10 at 5 PM with a chance to clinch the #1 seed for the playoffs.
The Gators face the Lancaster Bible Chargers who are currently 9-2 in the conference and 17-6 overall in what should be a thrilling regular season finale. NDMU is 1-2 all-time against LBC, with all three games occurring in the 2024-25 season. The Chargers won both regular season games, but the Gators were able to enact revenge in a 78-71 playoff victory.
