OWINGS MILLS, Md. –
Brennan Deremeik got his first win on the mound, while
Matthew Murdock picked up his first save of the season as the Notre Dame of Maryland University baseball team (6-18) defeated Stevenson (10-13) 8-4 on Wednesday.
Deremeik went 5.2 innings, striking out three and walking two, while Murdock scattered two hits over 3.1 innings in the win.
Four Gators had multiple hits in the win, with
Chase Cichocki,
AJ Williams,
Tyler Holton, and
Carter Nocca each getting two hits. Holton had three RBI, while Williams had two runs batted in.
Holton gave the Gators an early 1-0 lead as he singled to left in the first, scoring Williams.
After the Mustangs tied the score, Williams doubled down the line in the third, scoring Cichocki for a 2-1 lead.
MJ Lux had an RBI single
in the fourth to score
Ryan Parks, followed by Lux coming in to score on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch later in the winning.
In the sixth,
Hunter Beil singled to left, scoring Nocca, while Parks would later drive in Beil on a bases-loaded hit by pitch.
Notre Dame got two more in the eighth when Holton singled home Beil and Williams.
Notre Dame hosts PSU-Brandywine on Saturday.
