JENKINTOWN, Pa. – In a game delayed by darkness, the Notre Dame of Maryland baseball team was able to pull even in the delayed ninth inning as the Gators dropped a marathon 19-18 decision to PSU-Abington in Game 2 of their United East Championship baseball series.
The Gators – who trailed 9-1 after four – scored five runs in the fifth and eight in the sixth before Abington scored three in the bottom of the sixth and seven in the seventh.
The Gators would come back with four in the eighth.
Notre Dame had 17 hits in the game, with
Hunter Beil having four hits.
Chase Cichocki had three hits, while
Carter Nocca,
Mark Reineke,
Ben Boyer and
Brennan Deremeik each had two hits. Boyer finished the game with six RBI, while Nocca had four and Cichocki had three.
Donny White had three strikeouts in three innings of work, while
Brayden Valle had two in 3.1 innings of work.
