Mechanicsburg, Pa. – The Notre Dame of Maryland Women's Volleyball team competed at the Messiah Tri-Match this afternoon, where they swept Lackawanna before falling to the hosts in straight sets.
The Gators' defense held Lackawanna to a negative attack percentage for the match and had eight aces to Lackawanna's four and out-dug the opposition 47-35.
Bryanna Carter led the Gators with ten kills and a .250 attack percentage, while
Kaliyah Brown had eight kills and seven digs.
Aleah Johnson had five kills while falling just shy of a triple-double with 12 assists and nine digs.
Oliviya Rodriguez led the Gators with 14 assists while recording seven digs, while libero
Izzy Stewart led the team with 12 digs.
Match two saw the Gators' offense struggle against Messiah, only mustering 22 kills in the match.
Carter led the Gators with nine kills, while Brown had five kills and seven digs.
Myla Palmer added in five kills, and Johnson led NDMU with nine assists; she also had nine digs.
Rodriguez assisted eight times and Stewart led the team with a dozen digs for the second-successive match.
The Gators are back in action on Wednesday when they host Penn State York at 7 p.m. inside the MBK Sports Complex.
