Owings Mills, Md. - The Notre Dame of Maryland women's volleyball team competed this evening at the Stevenson Tri-Match where the Gators faced stiff competition from Christopher Newport and Stevenson.
In match one, Christopher Newport, which is receiving votes in the AVCA Division III Coaches Poll, swept the Gators as NDMU's offense struggled to get anything going and finished with a negative attack percentage.
Bryanna Carter led the offense with ten kills on a .240 attack percentage, and Kaliyah Brown added six kills.
Oliviya Rodriguez assisted 17 times, and Izzy Stewart led the team with nine digs.
The Gators' offense came back to life in match two against Stevenson, but the hosts hit an otherworldly .402 to win in straight sets.
Myla Palmer led NDMU with nine kills on a .278 attack percentage, while Brown and Carter had seven and six kills, respectively.
Rodriguez again assisted 17 times and recorded a pair of aces, while Celiana Carabello led the team with 10 digs.
The Gators are 5-7 on the season and open conference play tomorrow afternoon when they host Wilson at 1 p.m. inside the MBK Sports Complex.
