BALTIMORE - The Notre Dame of Maryland women's volleyball team came from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Wilson in five sets inside the MBK Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon as they opened conference play with a win for the first time since 2024.
The Gators won set one 25-22 before Wilson took sets two and three 25-19 and 25-17. The Gators roared back to win set four 25-16 before capping the day off with a 15-10 win in set five.
NDMU hit .179 for the match against Wilson's .158 and out-killed the Phoenix 55-49; the Gators also recorded 13 aces.
Kaliyah Brown led the attack with 18 kills, followed closely by
Bryanna Carter's 17 kills. Carter only committed one attack error for a .471 hitting percentage.
Myla Palmer added eight kills while
Lisette Ahlijah had six kills and six blocks.
Oliviya Rodriguez assisted 44 times, and
Celiana Carabello had nine digs and five aces, including back-to-back aces in the fifth set.
Izzy Stewart led all players with 16 digs and
Carissa Tanseco contributed 11 digs.
The Gators are 6-7 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. They are back in action on Wednesday evening when they host Cairn.
