Late Winner Lifts Women’s Soccer Past Goucher

BALTIMORE – The Notre Dame of Maryland women's soccer team won their first match of 2026 this afternoon at Beldon Field as they claimed a 2-1 win over Goucher.

The win is NDMU's first-ever win over Goucher in 12 attempts.

The Gators struck first in the contest through Alex Busick within seven minutes.

Goucher drew a penalty in the 64th minute, but the spot kick was saved by Leah Hasberry, one of nine saves she had in the contest.

The Gophers would find the equalizer on the subsequent corner kick.

Ava Tippett would score her first collegiate goal in the 86th minute to give the Gators a 2-1 lead, one they would hold onto until the final whistle.

The Gators only had four shots on goal but were able to convert on half of their chances; the Gators' defense stood strong despite facing 16 shots, ten of which came on target.

NDMU is 1-1 on the season and are back in action on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. against Marymount as a part of Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night.
