Allen Dehority

Allen Dehority enters his third season as sports information director at Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Dehority came to Notre Dame of Maryland with six years of sports information and four years of basketball coaching experience in the NCAA Division III ranks. He has most recently served as sports information assistant and assistant men’s basketball coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology located in Indiana.

On the sports information front, Dehority served as the main contact for the men’s and women’s soccer and softball teams at Rose-Hulman. The soccer teams combined for three regular season conference championships, one league tournament title and one NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in his three seasons as the main contact.

Dehority also helped Rose-Hulman complete a redesign of its website in 2011 and served as assistant editor for the 2012 track and cross country media guide that was named “Best in the Nation” by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Dehority also attended the 2012 CoSIDA national convention in St. Louis as a member of the organization.

On the basketball front, Dehority helped the Fightin’ Engineer men’s squad earn a record of 43-37 over the past three years, including a mark of 36-19 over the last two seasons. Rose-Hulman won the 2012 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament to earn the college’s first NCAA Division III Tournament bid since 1999. Players combined for eight all-conference awards, one Newcomer of the Year honor, and one conference tournament championship in his three years serving on the coaching staff. The team also ranked third nationally in scoring defense during its HCAC title run in 2012.

Prior to his Rose-Hulman era, Dehority served as the student sports information director at Blackburn College in Illinois for three years. At Blackburn, he managed a staff of four students that provided statistics at various events. He also served as tennis coach at Sullivan High School in western Indiana for two seasons, and was assistant basketball coach at Blackburn College for one season.

Dehority played four seasons of college basketball at Blackburn and was a member of a team that qualified for the 2005 NCAA Division III Tournament. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management with minors in history and coaching at Blackburn.
