Steve Swann enters his secon season as a member of the Notre Dame of Maryland University volleyball staff. In his first season with the team, he helped steer the team to a Colonial States Athletic Conference playoff appearance.
Swann joined the Gators after spending the previous seven seasons at Reservoir High School in Fulton, Md. where he specialized in hitter and defender development. As a part of his duties, he improved the team’s individual fundamentals and skill development while also improving the player's game situation awareness.
In addition to his role as assistant at Reservoir, Swann joined the Maryland Juniors Volleyball Club as the Head Coach in 2008 and was responsible for all aspects of the team, including team selection, role assignments and created and executed practice plans to improve the squad’s game knowledge and skill level.
After two seasons with the Juniors Volleyball Club, Swann took over the Columbia Volleyball Club where he coached a 16 USAV Juniors team before forming the Firebirds Volleyball Club in December 2012 as a way to provide an alternative to current club programs currently available in central Maryland.
Swann graduated from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Physics and works as an Operations Research Analyst for the U.S. Army. Swann resides in Baltimore, Md.
