Field Hockey Ends 2009 with 2-0 Loss at Wilson

CHAMBERSBURG, PA - College of Notre Dame field hockey finished its 2009 season Wednesday afternoon with a 2-0 loss at Wilson College. The Gators end the year with a 1-15 overall record. Wilson improved to 5-10 on the season with the victory.

Whitney Hawkins got Wilson on board first with her third goal of the year off an assist from Liesel Troshak just 11:31 into the game for the early lead. Lisa Christiansen followed with her ninth goal of the campaign off a pass from Megan Dennis to make the score 2-0 mid way through the first half. Wilson controlled possession of the ball with nine penalty corners in the game while out shooting the Gators by a 10-3 margin en route to the 2-0 win.

Senior goalie Jessica Maier (Beachwood, NJ/Toms River South) made four saves in the final game of her career. Nikola Grafnetterova stopped three Gator shots to earn the shut out in the cage for Wilson.
