OWINGS MILLS, MD - Marybeth Weimer two goals to lead the FDU-Florham Devils to a 4-0 win over College of Notre Dame Saturday morning in the Black Eyed Susan Tournament hosted by Stevenson University. With the win, the Devils improved to 2-0 while the Gators dropped to 0-2 on the season.
Weimer scored the opening goal 20:05 into the contest off a rebounded shot. Danielle King made it 2-0 early in the second half before Weimer gave the Devils a 3-0 lead with another rebound goal with 10:43 left in the game. Kelsey Kistle registered FDu's fourth goal with 2:04 remaining.
Kayleigh White made one stop in the cage to earn the shutout victory. Notre Dame senior Jessica Maier (Beachwood, NJ/Toms River South) made 15 saves before freshman Emily Langton (Mays Landing, NJ/Holy Spirit) closed out the final ten minutes of the contest.
The Gators will host their home opener tomorrow at 2 p.m. against non-conference opponent Bryn Mawr.
