Baltimore, MD – College of Notre Dame Field Hockey fell to non-conference opponent Wilson College Friday afternoon.
The Gators found themselves in a deficit just two minutes into the game with Wilson scoring twice. College of Notre Dame regained their composure and found themselves in a very even game. Both teams moved the ball up the field with good passing and players available in supportive positions. The Gators ball movement earned them three penalty corner chances, on the last opportunity Sarah Morris (Harrington, DE/Polytech) fired a quick shot on goal, but Wilson’s goalie kicked it away. The Phoenix scored in the final minutes of the half to take a 3-0 advantage.
Morris and Kiauna Womack (Clinton, MD/Forestville Military Academy) each had several strong runs up field in the second half for College of Notre Dame. The strong efforts began to wear down the Phoenix, but they would not surrender a goal.
Emily Langton (Mays Landing, NJ/Holy Spirit) improves her season total to 125 saves after 13 remarkable stops today.
