Immaculata, PA – College of Notre Dame falls 6-0 in their final game of the season to Colonial States Athletic Conference rival Immaculata University
The Mighty Macs used a persistent attack throughout the game, but the Gators defense held strong. Marie Gieman (Baltimore, MD/Catholic), Molly Murray (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen) and Nicole Walters (Joppa, MD/Mercy) all made remarkable plays to shut down Immaculata’s forwards.
The defense again found themselves under pressure by Mighty Macs in the final thirty-five minutes of regulation. College of Notre Dame’s Emily Langton (Mays Landing, NJ/Holy Spirit) played well in goal knocking aside ten Immaculata shots. The sophomore finishes the season with 191 saves and a save percentage of .710
Even though the season ended with a loss the Gators can take away something positive. The strong defensive play by College of Notre Dame held the Mighty Macs to two fewer goals then their previous meeting in 2009.
College of Notre Dame will be returning all but two players next season. The large number of experienced returners will help the Gators improve their overall record next season.
