Field Hockey Stumbles on Road

BALTIMORE, Md. - College of Notre Dame Field Hockey gets shut out in a weekend full of action. The Gators opened the weekend on the road against conference opponent Neumann University. The Knight’s took control of the game scoring five goals in the first half. College of Notre Dame regrouped defensively in the second half, holding Neumann to only one goal. Emily Langton (Mays Landing, NJ/Holy Spirit) was impressive in goal with fourteen saves.

The Gators had a quick turnaround, hosting Wells College Sunday afternoon. The Express and Gators battled for the entire seventy minutes of play. Wells scored twenty-three minutes into the first half after a scrum in front of the Gators goal. College of Notre Dame had a scoring chance mid-way through the half off of a penalty corner, but came up empty. The Express would score once more before the first half ended.

The Gators continued to play well defensively in the second half holding Wells to only seven shots. Langton made nine saves in the loss.

College of Notre Dame travels to Gwynedd-Mercy College Wednesday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
