Baltimore, Md. - October 8, 2011 - The Notre Dame of Maryland University field hockey team fell to visiting Immaculata University 3-0 Saturday afternoon on Alumnae Field. The loss puts the Gators at 2-4 on the year and 0-3 in league play, while the Mighty Macs move to 6-7 and 3-2 in the CSAC.
Immaculata jumped out a 2-0 lead off of its 13 first half corners and added an insurance goal in the second stanza. Tiffany Lockfield, Megan Dwyer, and Ashley O’Donnell each had goals for the Mighty Macs, while goalkeeper Natalie Slezak did not have to turn away a Notre Dame shot.
Her counterpart, Gator keeper Emily Langton (Mays Landing, N.J./Holy Spirit), stopped 22 shots in the loss.
The Gators continue their CSAC homestand when Neumann University comes to Baltimore on Saturday, October 15 for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
