Soccer Posts Shutout; Defeats Gallaudet 2-0

Box Score Washington, D.C. --  Notre Dame of Maryland University posted their second shutout of the season as the soccer team defeated Gallaudet University 2-0 Thursday night. 

Senior Laura Kaufman (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) gave Notre Dame the lead after 68 minutes of scoreless action by taking a corner kick from Gabrielle Rehmeyer (Baton Rouge, La./Waterford Kamhlaba) in the 69th minute for a 1-0 advantage. 

Junior Aquilina Faginas (West Lebanon, N.Y./New Lebanon) then sealed the game for the squad by putting the ball in the bottom left corner of the goal for her first of the season.  Freshman Kit Talbott (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) picked up her first career assist on the goal.

The Gators backline helped control the game, allowing the Bison just three shots on the night, allowing for a 29-3 Notre Dame shot advantage.  

With the win, the team improves to 2-2 on the season and will return home to Alumnae Field to host Penn State-Abington Tuesday.
